“Mr. President, this is for my friend, Ted Kennedy – aye," announced the ailing Senator Bob Byrd this morning while voting on the Senate Health Care Reform Bill, which passed along party lines- 60-39. The bill had no public option or any viable alternative to private insurance companies, no caps, and a mandate.
However, it is promising that a bill with some reform aspects was passed in the Senate, and the bill does have some good pieces. The bill prevents insurance companies from dropping patients if they become sick, and it limits ability to deny patients.
